Is new orleans a walkable city?

Overview of the city New Orleans has an average passability score of 59. The French Quarter and the Central Business District are among the most walkable neighborhoods. There's no need to get stuck in traffic, as everything is just a short walk away in the city center. With its French Quarter and endless nightlife, it's no wonder that New Orleans is one of the most walkable cities in the United States. One of the most walkable parts of this neighborhood, with easy access to Tulane and Loyola universities, is the Freret Street corridor.

The streets are filled with vibrant restaurants and shops around every corner, making it the most walkable city in New York State. Designed in the 19th century by French architect Adrien de Pauger, New Orleans once consisted solely of the dense, grid-shaped Vieux Carré, and the city expanded from there. Possibly one of New Orleans' family-friendly neighborhoods, historic Algiers Point has nothing more than low-impact roads (partially excluding Opelousas Avenue) and its picturesque collection of Queen Anne Victorians, houses with shotguns and corner stores, in the shade of an oak tree, gives us the Mayberry touch. This New Orleans neighborhood features lively Oak Street and the Riverbend area, which is home to several stores, restaurants and entertainment spaces.

Since it was created in a world without cars and designed for pedestrians and horse-drawn carriages, it's no surprise that New Orleans is still compact and very walkable, especially in its older neighborhoods. Chicago's walking score, with all its walkable neighborhoods, makes it one of the most walkable cities in the world. This week, Curbed New Orleans mapped 17 neighborhoods and ranked them from the most to the least passable according to Walk Score data. And if you want to try some of the best New Orleans food, take a walk down Frenchmen Street.

New Orleans offers a diverse menu of attractions for visitors: live music, food, sports, art, festivals, and after my first trip to the city, I have my own list of favorite things.
