| Description: | The Louvre is home to over 35,000 works which is on display across eight exhibition departments: Near Eastern Antiquities, Islamic Art, Paintings, Egyptian Antiquities, Sculptures, Prints and Drawings, Greek, Etruscan and Roman Antiquities and Decorative Arts. The Louvre's collection of French paintings is unrivalled, and includes works by artists such as Poussin, Boucher, Fouquet, Le Brun, Watteau, Chardin, David, Ingres, Delacroix and Géricault. Works by Flemish artists from the 14th to the 19th century include Rubens, Van Dyck, and Jordaens. Admission to the Louvre is free on the first Sunday of every month. The museum is open from 9am - 6 pm (until 10pm Wed and Fri) |
