Destination Belgrade
| Possibly one of the last remaining Great Eastern European Cities, Belgrade has yet to be completely invaded and overtaken by Western Globalisation. Of course, this can’t last forever, so a visit here should be taken sooner rather than later. You won’t be disappointed – Belgrade is one fine city boasting many art galleries, museums and even a City Centre fortress (the Kalemagden). The city streets are awash with outside cafes and bohemian styled restaurants. The locals are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food is plentiful and inexpensive, even at the most swish of restaurants. The former Yugoslavia was the first “Eastern Bloc” country to encourage tourism from the West. An independent Serbia has also opened its doors and has embraced tourism with the same enthusiasm. |
