Destination Vienna
| The capital and Austria's biggest city which lies on the famous river Danube. Vienna has a rich and cultural history where classical music, opera and art are concerned, the city has some of the world's finest theatres and operatic venues, as well as several fine museums, the pick of the bunch is the Sisi Museum. Other places of interest are the Imperial palaces, art galleries and St Stephen's Cathedral. As far as architecture goes there's many stunning buildings to admire in many different styles from Baroque to Art Nouveau. Local food specialities include Wiener schnitzel, spicey sausages plus deserts such as Apfelstrudel and cake. The city is also one of the few to have its own vineyards. Vienna has an extensive public transport system which includes, buses, trams and trains. |  |
