Destination Los Cristianos
| Without doubt one of the most popular resorts in the whole of the Canary Islands. Located on the Southern tip of Tenerife, Los Cristianos benefits from year-round sunshine in a climate which has been described as perpetual spring-time. The temperature is rarely oppressive and it is one of the reasons that Tenerife continues to attract tourists in large numbers from the UK and the rest of Europe.
Los Cristianos used to be a small fishing village, these days the harbour is home to a fleet of passenger ferries which sail daily to the nearby island of La Gomera and further afield to La Palma as well as the rest of the Canary Islands. The fishing boats are still in evidence alongside several pleasure boats which provide the visitor with the opportunity to see Pilot Whales and Dolphins.
In comparison to its near neighbour Playa de Las Americas, Los Cristianos is a bit less hectic and for this reason it attracts a slightly older age group. There's a wide selection of reasonably priced restaurants and bars along the sea front and within the resort. For those who enjoy shopping there's no shortage of designer boutiques. The island has plenty of attractions for the visitor including mount Teide which dominates this volcanic island. |
