| The former capital of Italy, it is now the captial of the region of Tuscany, Florence is located on the river Arno. The city is famed for its works of art and architecture, it was once home to Michelangelo, Donatello, and Leonardo da Vinci. Points of interest include the Uffizi art Gallery which is one of the finest in the world. Other highlights include The Ponte Vecchio Bridge and The Duomo. Florence is a cuisine lovers delight with many excellent restaurants offering great food. The city centre is pretty much closed to traffic although buses are permitted. |  |
